Bring the Green

“Wow. This is so good!”

“I know! It sorta tastes like ice-cream!”

“And half of it is spinach!”

“Definitely! Huh… wait what?”

Yep. Another classic story of fooling your friends.

Tip: Don’t tell them what they’re eating is chock full of spinach until after they’ve tried it.

You’ll get some wide-eyed faces looking back at you when you do tell them but hey, photo op! I can see the album now: shocko ultimato, the prime folder for picking happy birthday posts pics from. You are welcome.

Summer’s coming, ice-cream sounds good, you wanna look fit, and ice-cream sounds good. No more introduction needed, meet my sweet green friend:

Green Apple Smoothie:

Ingredients:

-small ripe banana (frozen)

-1/2 small green apple (frozen)

-3 or 4 med. size chunks pineapple (frozen)

-1 to 1 1/2 cups spinach (fresh)

-1/4 small avocado (fresh or frozen)

-about 1/2 cup almond milk (or other liquid of choice)

Optional- add a spoonful of flaxseeds, chia seeds, or other superfoods for a health punch.

Directions:

Put the spinach and fruit (and superfoods) into the blender. Pour in about half of the liquid, and start blending. It might take a few goes, and keep adding the liquid slowly until it blends to your preferred consistency.

Grab a big spoon (I mean big, you wanna get all that good stuff together) and let your heart sing! Creamy, cold, tangy, sweet, love.
