I’ve always had a thing for jam.
Tangy. Sweet. Fruity. Jam-y…
Resistance is futile. How could you not mix in that bright berry goodness into yogurt, a parfait, or eat a whole jar in one sitting. Oops. That escalated quickly.
What can I say? I was jamming out to some awesome music, had a big spoon in my hand, and a nice ‘ole jar of jam wanted to join the party, and who was I to deny it the fun?
Well if you have the same welcoming mentality as me, you’ll be happy to know that I have a recipe perfect for those occasions. Yes. I am giving you permission to eat a whole bowl of this jam. No regrets.
Chia Jam
Ingredients:
-1 cup any fruit (berries are usually best)
-1 tbsp chia seeds
-1 date/lychee (opt.)
Directions:
Blend that awesome fruit and a lychee or date for extra sweetness! (The fruit date, silly! Didn’t I tell you food>people already?) Stir in the chia, and let it sit in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Raspberries. Strawberries. Mangoes. Pineapple. Blackberries. Blueberries.
Spreading this on better-than-toast caramelized sweet potatoes. Doesn’t that sound so good? Well it is, so you’d better check out http://goo.gl/1GLhI7 for the recipe.
So. Many. Possibilities. Too many possibilities! Maybe I shouldn’t have released such an easy and healthy jam… I don’t know whether I’ll be able to stop. Well, no turning back now. The Kraken has been unleashed.
May your days be filled with happy jamming!
Let’s be real here, if they’re filled with jam, happy is a given.
Homemade yogurt with homemade strawberry preserves is the best. Jam on!
